These Andalusian Coturnix Quail Hatching Eggs are produced from a specialty line of Coturnix quail developed for their deep slate-blue feather coloration and calm, steady temperament. The Andalusian variety is a rare and visually striking addition to any flock, often displaying a uniform steel-gray appearance with minimal patterning. These birds are not only visually impressive but also productive layers, making them suitable for breeders seeking both form and function.
Eggs are sourced from carefully managed breeder flocks within the Undique partner network. Selection priorities for this line include consistent feather coloration, strong fertility, and reliable growth and egg production. The Andalusian line is maintained to balance appearance with practical performance traits.
Incubation requires 17 to 18 days at a steady temperature of 99.5°F with a humidity level of 45 to 50 percent, rising to 65 to 70 percent during the final three days before hatch. Eggs should be rested pointed side down for 12 to 24 hours prior to incubation. Eggs are not washed, preserving the natural bloom that protects the developing embryo. Hatch rates depend on proper incubation practices and are not guaranteed.
This line is ideal for breeders looking to work with rare Coturnix genetics, expand color diversity in their flock, or develop breeding projects centered around uniform, blue-toned feathering.
