Description

Freeze-dried minnows for cats and dogs, and the minnow in question is the marble goby, left whole. That is the only ingredient. We freeze-dry them in small batches and add nothing.

Each minnow is a whole fish with a crunchy, whole-fish texture, and we score that crunch 4 of 5. Size and color vary from one fish to the next, so a bag is a mix of bigger and smaller, lighter and darker. One bag is for both the cat and the dog.

Give a minnow whole, or crumble one over food as a topper. Our fit chart lists adult dogs of all sizes, and the bag ships for dogs and cats alike. As a training reward minnows get 3 of 5 on our scorecard, a middle mark. The crunch is the stronger number.

About the marble goby

The fish is Oxyeleotris marmorata, the marble goby. We do not fillet it, grind it or press it into a shape. It goes into the freeze dryer whole and comes out whole. There is one size, a 2 ounce resealable bag.

The minnows are made and shipped by Sniff and Shift in Malvern, Pennsylvania. Recurring orders are managed on our subscription page, and the rest of what we freeze-dry is in the treat collection.

Feeding and storage

Feed as a treat or meal topper. Not intended to replace a complete diet. Provide fresh water at all times. Supervise pets while feeding and adjust treat quantity based on your pet's size, activity level, and caloric needs. Reseal the bag after you open it. Store it cool and dry, out of direct sunlight.
