Ica Acop600 Ocean-Pure Aquarium Cubes, Ultra Porous Medium For Bacteria, 12 Pcs.
Ocean-Pure buckets are a filter material reducing ammonia, nitrites and nitrate that promote the formation of colonies of bacteria that accelerate biological filtration in the aquarium. Its ultra-porous structure provides the ideal environment for nitrifying bacteria responsible for removing ammonia and nitrites, and denitrifying bacteria responsible for reducing nitrates. If placed in high circulation areas, such as charge filters, it promotes nitrification thanks to its oxygen-rich environment. Placing them semi-buried in the substrate or in areas of the low-circulation sump favors denitrification in oxygen-poor environments, while a medium flow zone will create a rich environment for both bacteria, performing both denitrification and nitrification. Each bucket can treat 20 to 30L of water, depending on the amount of fish in the aquarium.
