Kolar Labs crystal cal Activated carbon - 5 gallon Activated charcoal for Aquariums and Fish Tanks
Fast-Acting & Effectivecrystal cal Activated carbon was painstakingly sourced by our partners at calgon carbon and is made specifically for aquarium water filtration. It features a sub-bituminous coal base with optimum pore structure to help remove colors, tannins, odors, medications and other common contaminants from aquariums and ponds.crystal calAs unique fabrication process results in an activated carbon that combines the best of lignite and coal-based carbons for superior removal and mechanical stability. crystal cal has a large pore structure, similar to that of lignite carbons, for effective removal of higher molar weight color inducing molecules from aquariums. This effective pore structure is combined with dramatically improved mechanical stability of coal-based granules to resist physical breakdown and dust production results in an ideal product for aquarium use. Most of the carbon sold for fish tanks is made to treat air, resulting in high levels of contaminants, such as phosphates, which may leach into water. All of our activated carbon is produced to rigorous food and drinking water standards for unparalleled consistency and quality that minimizes harmful trace contaminants. We are proud to say that crystal cal has low levels of extractables and dust and is washed and steam activated to higher standards of ALiquid Phase carbon.Aget to Know Kolar LabsKolar Labs has been the source for premium filter medias in the aquarium industry for years. I can’t believe the difference this activated charcoal has made for my fish. It’s super effective, and I love that it comes in a 5-gallon bucket. My fish are thriving, and there’s no more foul smell. Totally worth it!
I was excited to use this product, but it arrived with a dented bucket and some of the charcoal spilled out. The charcoal itself seems fine, but I was disappointed with how it was packaged. Just a hassle I didn’t need to deal with.
I’m happy with the performance of this Kolar Labs activated carbon, but I did notice some dust from the product when I opened the bucket. It wasn't a huge hassle, but it made setup a little messier than I expected. Overall, it does its job!
I recently switched to Kolar Labs' activated charcoal for my 55-gallon aquarium, and I can tell the difference in water clarity. The 5-gallon bucket is super convenient for my tank size, and it really helps keep the water clean and odor-free. Definitely a solid choice!
The Kolar Labs activated carbon does a good job at filtering, but I feel like the price is a bit steep for what you get. It works well, but I’ve had other brands that were just as effective for less money. Just mixed feelings about the value.
